Prayer Group

Prayer Group The Prayer Group meets each Wednesday at 5.00pm (17.00 hours) in the Lady Chapel. If the Group is NOT going to meet, an announcement will be made in Church at all services on the preceding Sunday. This is not an exclusive group and anyone is welcome to join with us. Each week we begin with prayer, have a reading from scripture and an appropriate Collect, followed by a period of about five minutes silence for reflection and/or silent prayer. We then pray for the Church – Anglican Communion, Bishop and Diocese, Parish, followed by a further period of silence. Following the second period of silence, all persons present are given the opportunity to offer prayer that is usually for our world and its problems, those in any kind of need such as the sick, sorrowful and anxious and for those gone before us in the faith. Finally, we have a couple of appropriate closing prayers and then sum up all our prayers with the Grace. The Prayer Group usually lasts for up to 25 minutes. If you would like to have a quiet period each week to reflect and pray together with fellow Christians, please come along. We will be glad to see you.
